Until a couple of decades ago, the land in Altanea was used for intensive farming. It was not until the early 21st century that it began being converted into a tourist resort.
Lido Altanea is a recently constructed beach resort that is just 5 km from Caorle. It was designed and built to be an ideal village surrounded by greenery, where tourists can find all of the services that they need for a holiday that meets all of their needs.
It stands out thanks to its exceptional standard of living: there are no architectural barriers, few tall buildings and the majority of the houses have two floors, sizeable gardens and large swimming pools. In addition, there are lots of trees, hedges, lawns and flower beds, which are always kept in perfect order by hard-working gardeners.
Lido Altanea beach has walkways running around its edges and it slopes gently down to the sea, where you can have great fun playing safely in the shallow water with a sandy bottom. By the shore, you can find all of the facilities and services that you might need for a relaxing time on the beach: umbrellas with deck chairs and sun loungers, kiosks, bathrooms, showers, entertainment for adults and children, and a lifeguard service.
In Altanea, there is a “train” shuttle service providing access to the beach that makes life easier for everyone and is a big hit with children. It is free, it runs throughout the day and it stops in a number of parts of the resort.
Altanea also offers plenty of opportunities to stay active in the great outdoors. You could go for a walk or a bike ride and enjoy the natural environment alongside the cycle paths in the surrounding area, which lead to the nearby resorts and some stunning inland sites. Alternatively, numerous options are available at the Sporting Club Altanea.
The fun in Altanea doesn’t stop there: in the evenings there is live music, shows and entertainment in the Happy Arena.
There are also plenty of shops, cafés, bars, pizzerias and restaurants that are always open and happy to welcome tourists who want to do a little shopping or spend a pleasant summer evening eating a pizza or some delicious ice cream. La Quercia shopping centre is the hub and the main gathering place in Altanea. With its shops, cafés, bars, pizzerias and the large Rosa dei Venti square, every evening it attracts tourists looking to spend a few hours having fun and shopping.

In Lido Altanea, there is free entertainment for guests on the beach, in the hotels and in the campsite all day long. It continues in the evening in the Happy Arena. Games, music, dancing, tournaments and sport help to keep tourists entertained and give them the opportunity to make new friends.
Lots of outdoor sports are on offer in Altanea: the beach is the ideal place for long sessions of beach tennis on the shore, as well as hard-fought games of bocce, football and volleyball. You can also swim and dive in the sea.
